As HIT Consulting Jobs and HIT Perm Jobs finish up our first year in business with a very happy Holiday Season, we start to look at the trends that are forming for 2012 in the Healthcare IT Job market.
Here are some interesting HIT job trends for 2012:
1. Epic is still hot, hot, hot
We started the year strong with 36 Epic consulting jobs posted in the first quarter. 48 were posted in Q2, and 66 in Q3. We currently have 44 Epic jobs on www.hitconsultingjobs.com, and 38 Epic jobs on www.hitpermjobs.com.
2. ICD-10 conversion is trending slower than expected
With the adoption date of 10-01-2013 looming large, and lots of questions from industry players (including the AMA), ICD-10 jobs just don’t seem to be taking off the way they were expected to. It seems that HIT and HIM departments just have too much EMR work to do to be focused completely on ICD-10.
3. Hiring managers seem to be utilizing permanent employees as EMR resources
More and more providers seem to be looking for fulltime, permanent direct hires for their EMR needs. With a lot of quality consulting firms tapped out of talent, hospitals and health systems are turning to hiring and training internal talent.
4. There will be plenty to do in 2012!
There is still extreme demand for qualified Healthcare IT Consultants and Direct Hires. If you have the experience with Epic, Cerner, McKesson, GE, Siemens, Meditech, Allscripts, etc., you should upload your resume for consulting positions here: Click Here

As our inaugural year comes to a close, we at HITCJ and HITPJ wish you and yours a very special Holiday Season, and an AWESOME 2012!
